the gab lab story

in 2020, allie and marisa were set up on a blind friend date. as new mothers, both with careers in speech-language pathology, a mutual friend thought they were bound to hit it off. turns out that friend was right!

their budding friendship evolved into an accidental business, when allie and marisa realized there was a major need for social opportunities during the pandemic.

as speech therapists, they understood how certain language techniques benefitted their own children. but they noticed many of their other mom friends growing concerned over their babies not meeting language milestones.

in a world with social distancing, closed daycares, limited access to in-person therapy, and mask wearing, it is understandable why many caregivers are worried about their little ones’ communication skills falling behind.

as moms, they craved a reason to get out of the house with their babies, and desperately desired interaction with other adults.

so the gab lab was born!

gab lab classes incorporate music, play, and evidence-based language development techniques to promote your child’s communication skills. taught by certified speech-language pathologists with a combined 15 years in the field, allie and marisa aim to inspire and equip parents with skills to help their littlest talkers get gabbing.
